The paper
The Buffalo Brief is published by Grinning Buffalo Media of Yukon, Oklahoma. These terms cover the paper at brief.grinningbuffalomedia.com, including the free pages and The Sunday Edition. By reading or paying, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the paper.
What you may read
The news pages are free. A reader may leave an email for one daily note that contains the link to the paper. That list is only the address. The note can be stopped from the link in the email. Songs in the listening room can be played on the page. A download is ninety-nine cents a song, a one-time charge billed by Stripe, and it is separate from any other payment. The Sunday Edition is for subscribers. It holds the opinion, Dear Cricket, the recipes, the blog, and the shelf. A subscription is five dollars a month, billed by Stripe, until you cancel. You may cancel in Stripe at any time. You keep the Sunday Edition through the end of the month you already paid for. Fees already paid are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
News, opinion, and advice
Stories are written from the public record and from reporting named on the page. A headline that names another newsroom belongs to that newsroom. The paper is not that newsroom. Opinion is the paper’s opinion. Dear Cricket is an advice column. It is not medical, legal, financial, or mental-health care, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional. Recipes are for home cooking. You use them at your own stove.
Letters and comments
You may send a letter, a recipe, or a comment. You may use your name or ask to be unnamed. You promise that what you send is yours, that it is lawful, and that you have the right to give it to the paper. You give Grinning Buffalo Media permission to publish, edit for length and clarity, and keep it. The paper may hold, refuse, or remove a letter or a comment. Do not send threats, private information about a private person, or anything sexual involving a minor.
Old pages and advertisements
The nostalgia pages are old newspaper manners and clippings for reading. They are not live offers unless the paper labels an advertisement as current. A link to another shop may earn the paper a commission. Goods sold on the shelf, when they are offered, are separate from the five-dollar subscription and are described on that offer.
Our words and pictures
The name The Buffalo Brief, the grinning buffalo, and the paper’s own writing and pictures belong to Grinning Buffalo Media. You may share a link. You may not copy the paper’s pieces and sell them, or present them as your own.
The paper is not liable for the content
Grinning Buffalo Media and the publisher are not liable for the content of The Buffalo Brief. That includes the news, the headlines, the opinion, Dear Cricket, the recipes, the blog, the letters, the comments, the nostalgia pages, and anything sent in by a reader or drawn from another newsroom. Content is provided as it stands. You are responsible for how you use it. The paper may correct, update, or remove a story, and the site may be unavailable. To the extent the law allows, the paper is not liable for any loss, claim, or damage that comes from reading, relying on, or sharing that content, or from a delay, an error, or a time when the paper is down. Nothing in these terms limits a right that the law does not let us limit.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma. The paper may update them. The date at the top will change when it does. Continuing to read or subscribe after a change means you accept the new terms.
